Community fundraising
Day in, day out, we’re helping orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia change their future. This couldn’t happen without the funds raised by our amazing supporters.
ZOA supporters have climbed mountains, held fashion swaps, thrown dinner parties, cycled from Land’s End to John o’Groats, run marathons, auctioned art work and held collections at concerts and plays.
If you’re looking to raise sponsorship online you can set up a fundraising page with Just Giving or Give Wheel.

Case Studies
Kash Climbs Kilimanjaro
In October 2024 Kash Palmer raised over £3,000 by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro’s 5,895 metres with her best friend Cassie.
Kash and Cassie took the Lemosho route, taking eight days to complete their challenge in aid of Zambia Orphans Aid and UNRWA, rewarding themselves with a well-deserved holiday in Tanzania afterwards.
Kash said, “My mother is Zambian and although I am born and bred in the UK, my Zambian heritage is very dear to my heart and something I am incredibly proud of. I knew I wanted to take the opportunity to fundraise for a charity which supported my heritage – Zambia.”
Isla Mpande
Isla ran 2.6km in her garden during the Coronavirus lockdown raising £316 for Zambia Orphans Aid.
“I ran 2.6km in my garden during lockdown with my Dad to raise money for Zambia Orphans Aid UK. I did this as I was sad about the children that had no carers or support so I wanted to help by raising money for them and helping them have a good future.”
Harvey Lineman
Cycled 2,500km in France raising over £5000!
“Four weeks in the saddle on a circuit of France, alone. There were times when the whimsical post-retirement concept (Taste the wines! Improve language skills! Admire scenery!) did not quite match reality in France’s worst summer for years.
The weather (and my French) improved, the final week (Loire valley) had much the best cycling roads, and my generous sponsors coughed up willingly to the tune of over £5,000 plus gift aid back home. I still smile thinking of it.”
Help change a child's future
Your help can support children through primary and secondary school, provide nutritious school meals so pupils aren’t learning on an empty stomach and support those that can through tertiary vocational training. We provide a holistic approach so also provide mental health support and other inputs where needed.
