Leave a legacy
Leave a legacy
Over 2,000 children depend on ZOA-UK each year and many more are out of school. Leaving a gift in your will is an investment which will have a long-lasting impact, helping to build a better future for the communities we work with.
Having spent your working life providing for yourself and your family, we understand that what you leave behind has been hard-earned, carefully managed and is extremely important to you. If you do choose to leave a legacy we will ensure this continues to be the case and promise to use your gift carefully.
Leaving a gift to ZOA in your will can be a lot easier than you think, and it will have a huge impact on so many people’s lives. You could help to provide an education to a child, train a teacher, or fund school meals that keep hundreds of children free from hunger so they can concentrate on learning. You can play a vital role in helping children and young people in Zambia achieve their potential.
If you have any questions or want to discuss leaving a legacy please call Katy on 01223 901 006 or email her at katy@zoa.org.uk
Thank you.
A single gift can transform a child's life for years to come
In 2023 we received a generous legacy of £200,000 from the estate of Geoffrey Croome. Geoffrey was a founding Trustee of Zambia Orphans Aid UK and our Secretary until he stepped down in 2022. Geoffrey was an economist who spent time in Zambia as an Overseas Development Institute Fellow, building the capacity of the newly independent Zambian Government in the 1960s.
Geoffrey’s legacy is allowing young people to gain qualifications that will help them access paid employment in professions such as teaching and healthcare, roles that will support the economic development of Zambia. Students have been enrolled on three or four year courses with studies commencing in 2024. Funding is being disbursed termly with the first graduates ready to start work in 2027.
